Way back when in 1967 The Monkees on the Radio My own little piece of Heaven Was playin in a rock-n-roll show I wanted to plug in and rock it out But a ukelele's all I had I would beg my mama I would scream and shout But all she'd say was ask your dad Christmastime was a coming soon So Dad said to write to you I might be a little old for this Santa stuff But I'm takin a chance you'll come through CHORUS Please, Santa, please Bring to me A 55 Telecaster under my tree An amplifier too and make it loud I guarantee a year from now I'll make you proud If I was just a little louder I could draw a crowd. Standing in front of a mirror In my hip-hugging, bell-bottom jeans Strap hung low like a Rolling Stone Tryin my best to look mean I'd practice for hours all alone To my favorite 45's I'd be jammin with Eric "Before Your Love" Never hearing my mother's cries. I got a Malibu blue Danelectro guitar And a Silvertone amp from Sears ????????????????????? So I'm beggin you to gimme this year CHORUS Guitar Jam Break CHORUS I guarantee a year from now I'll make you proud If I was just a little louder I could draw a crowd. It's been 20 years that I've been trying to get that line!!! Please help!

Dan...Me too! I sure hope we can wrestle the lyrics out here! But, I think you got it right the first time. Wasn't Eric Clapton in the Yardbirds, along with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck? Which brings me to my next thought. I believe the ??? line starts with: "Jimmy and Jeff are both in the" or "Jimmy and Jeff are both into" ???. So if that's right, maybe we just need the one remaining word at the end of that stanza!

Oh, Dan...... excep,t just to clarify, I forgot to say that the line you originally corrected, I believe goes; "I'd be jammin' with Eric on "For your Love" never hearin' my mama's cries". That's where I got the Yardbirds connection.

Ok, got it! ...I'd get jammin with Eric on "For Your Love" never hearing my mother's cries. I got a Malibu blue Danelectro guitar and a Silvertone at the Sears. Jimmy and Jeff are both in demand so I'm a beggin' you again this year...
