Carlene Helps Light Up a Life in Ventura!

From our friend Robin Reed: Carlene Carter stopped by the Pacific View Mall in Ventura, CA to support the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association's 30th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Me and hub were at Target next door and got there early where the ever gracious and warm Carlene and I talked a little and I got a couple pics of us. Oh, what a thrill! It's been since the early 80's I'd gone and seen her and I was so excited and grateful for her time!

Then notaries like the Police Chief, Fire Chief and Administrative and nursing staff read those that had passed in their hospice care. Carlene shared about her mom and Rosey her sister. It was a sweet but serious group. After the names were read Carlene got up and did an impromptu perfect "Give Me the Roses" from the Carter Girl album with her rich and beautiful voice. Lots of folks in the mall just stopped and listened when they heard her singing. Next she and her husband did "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and her husband singing bass and just right for the ending to the ceremony. What a blessing and what a good heart Carlene has. Her voice sounded awesome and she was so very kind and fun, even after just getting off touring. And soon, she will be out on the road for 80 dates opening for John Mellencamp. Thank you Carlene! You go C.C.!
